A Little Bit About Me!
Hi!
I am an animal artist from Stamford, Lincolnshire.
Two of my biggest passions growing up were art and animals. When I was little, I would draw everything I could see and create using anything I found. I grew up with dogs, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, all kinds of animals, so it’s unsurprising that animals became my biggest subject from a young age!
I discovered my colourful style in sixth form at Stamford Endowed Schools. I was experimenting with colour for a project I was working on when I painted a horse using pretty much every colour in the box of paint. I instantly fell in love with how fun and unique it was. I haven’t turned back since! With every painting my style develops but my paint palette is always as colourful as ever!
After school I went on to do an Art & Design foundation course followed by a degree in Graphic Design & Illustration. I painted and sold my art when I could throughout university. I got such a thrill out of creating art that people loved just as much as I did, I knew I wanted to make a career out of it someday. I graduated in June 2021 during a time where covid was making things very difficult for graduates to find careers. My solution was to bite the bullet and go self-employed. I just thought ‘why not try?!’ and so Emily Howard Designs was born! (August 2021).
I can’t believe how much I have achieved already and am excited to see what the future holds!
